City Colleges of Chicago must meet the April 2026 federal digital accessibility mandate, which applies to all digital content. This is called "WCAG 2.1" and stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidance. This is a new rule under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is not a one-time project — it requires structure, shared governance, and ongoing maintenance.
This drop-in session will focus on using Ally in Brightspace for 5 specific areas for accessibility within course materials: Headings, Links, Alt Text, Color Contrast, Video & Audio Captions Course materials include content in Brightspace for all course modalities, all publisher content, all course materials distributed to students as digital files.
