Supporting CCC’s Course Success Efforts

The Course Success Rate Project focuses on improving course completion and success rates at City Colleges to meet equity and completion goals. The initiative emphasizes sustaining gains from previous years while implementing instructional strategies and standardized templates to enhance student engagement and persistence. By leveraging tools like Brightspace, Navigate, and embedded academic supports, the project aims to create consistent learning experiences and improve credit accumulation and GPAs, ultimately contributing to better long-term student outcomes.

During this webinar we will address the following topics:

  • Problem Statement & Goals
    Addressing course success and completion compared to national benchmarks, with a clear goal to improve credit accumulation and student GPAs in specific courses.
  • Focus Courses for Spring 2026
    Targeted English, Math, CIS, Biology, Business, and College Success courses identified for intervention.
  • Instructional Strategies 
    Six core practices including warm welcomes, syllabus design, early feedback, attendance tracking, and accessible academic supports.
  • Course Templates & Resources
    Standardized synchronous and asynchronous course templates, resource hub links, and upcoming training sessions for faculty.
