Committed to amplifying and uplifting marginalized voices, Dr. Ada Cheng has created numerous storytelling platforms for BIPOC and LGBTQIA community members to tell difficult and vulnerable stories.
A former college professor, Dr. Cheng is passionate about public education and public outreach through the use of storytelling and performance arts and will do so for this event.
Dr. Cheng will discuss why sharing stories in public is particularly important for women and survivors of gender-based in developing identities, forming connections, and building solidarity across differences. In particular, she will talk about the dilemma for woman of color to speak about harm done to one another within one’s own community.
