Join us for a virtual event hosted by Songs of Ourselves, sponsored by Project S.A.F.E.
In this workshop, participants will begin to examine their personal gender journey through confronting the ways gender expectations are modeled and enforced. Participants will discuss how experiencing gender-based violence can contribute to the ways in which individuals think about themselves. After doing this reflection, participants will have the opportunity to turn their feelings into art by creating a gender map that showcases significant points from their gender journey throughout their life.
This healing activity results in a visual timeline that can look a variety of different ways based on the participant’s own creativity. Examples will be provided. The workshop will end with an optional opportunity for participants to share their maps.
