Session Title: Developing Tech Fluency to Help Students Address Real-Life Needs
Presenter: Thomas Osgood (Malcolm X College)
Date and Time: June 10, 2022 from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.
Description: This presentation highlights a sample lesson plan encouraging fluency in technology language. Tech fluency helps students to address and solve pertinent, felt needs in their lives (e.g., housing, food, professional services) more confidently. The lesson template can be adapted to varying levels of student proficiency and need, assisting instructors in crafting technologically rigorous and practically useful lessons. The demonstrated lesson plan includes how to utilize an apartment listing website to identify housing that is closely tailored to a student’s needs.
