Cybersecurity is a growing field that spans across all industries. It is also a culture – a constantly evolving and expanding niche – specially suited to life-long learners, problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and collaborators.

To help fill the need for qualified cybersecurity professionals, City Colleges of Chicago offers a cybersecurity boot camp to people looking to take their IT career to the next level. This boot camp provides both expert instruction and the materials necessary for students to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification exam, a broad, foundational cybersecurity certification.

Learn what you need to be prepared to take the industry-recognized CompTIA Security+ certification exam.

Study Under Experts in the Field

Students will learn from cybersecurity professionals working in the financial, government and retail industries. This helps learners stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, techniques, and responses.

Learn on Evenings & Weekends

This boot camp meets three times a week, for a total of 10 hours per week. Students are expected to participate in all sessions for the full 18-week program.

Class Information

Course Number: 12823

Program Cost: The current cost of the cybersecurity boot camp is $1,300. Qualified students can have tuition covered by the Future Ready program. Space is limited and is on a first come first serve basis.

Class Days & Times:

  • 7/12/22 – 12/3/22 

    • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m.  to 9:00 p.m.

    • Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Class Location: Online, Synchronous

Training to prepare students to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. In this course, you will implement information security, project management, Agile and Scrum methodologies across a variety of different contexts. Some of the topics that you will learn are:
*Analyze risk Identify various threats to information security Implement cryptographic solutions in the organization
*Address security incidents
*Ensure the continuity of business operations in the event of an incident.

Class Notes: This class will be held remotely at the scheduled class time. Students should plan to participate in live (synchronous) Zoom class meetings and instructional activities during each scheduled class day at the times listed in the schedule. Students are expected to participate regularly in the course based on the requirements outlined in the course syllabus.
