Dawson Technical Institute (DTI) has partnered with Polished Pebbles to host the inaugural Pink Hard Hat Symposium. Polished Pebbles created the Pink Hard Hat program to address the workforce readiness needs of Chicago’s African American and Latina girls and the existing barriers to girls and women of color in the trades, manufacturing, and construction industries.
At the symposium, you will hear from leading women from various firms and companies in the trades, construction, and manufacturing industries. There will be hands-on activities in DTI’s masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical labs. Additionally, DTI female-identifying students will share their educational and career journeys to inspire the next generation. Lastly, there will be a tabling event for participants to meet with various companies in the skilled trades sector.
