During Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, join us for a special "Writing Healthy Masculinities" virtual workshop!
When: November 16, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: This is a virtual event. Please use the Zoom link provided to register.
In this workshop, participants will begin to challenge ideas of what masculinity is. They will work to create their own individual definitions of masculinity. The workshop provides the opportunity to examine elements of masculinity that feel harmful, affirming, and/or healing. Participants will learn how to unpack the masculinity box, with the goal that feelings toward our expressions of masculinity will become less of a mystery.
This workshop will be facilitated by Sage Mitchell (he/they), the creator of Songs of Ourselves. A queer and trans writer, Sage has used writing as reflective tool from a very young age. His writing is driven by a desire to heal and understand the multitudes within himself. As trans man activist Lou Sullivan put it, “I write to keep a record of a phenomenon such as myself.” Sage believes we are all so full of wonder, and that is certainly worth writing about.
