City Colleges faculty and staff are invited the Office of Student Transitions during National Transfer Student Week for a virtual discussion on ‘Transfer as a Social Justice Imperative.’

This will be the first session hosted by the Transfer Advocacy Learning Community.

Despite all of higher education’s efforts through pathways and retention initiatives, there continue to be significant gaps in attainment for students of color pursuing their baccalaureate education. During this virtual event, Dr. Drew Koch, CEO of the Gardener Institute, will discuss how we can collaborate as a system to improve baccalaureate degree completion outcomes for our students of color.

Dr. Drew Koch is a child of immigrants who came to the United States in pursuit of a better life for their family. Though his first language was not English, postsecondary education was valued by his family as a means for realizing the American Dream. He is a staunch advocate and leader of efforts that increase student access to and through postsecondary education. He has worked in and with higher education institutions for nearly 30 years, including at the Gardner Institute, where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
