Sean Flynn
When Sean Flynn first stepped through the doors of Olive-Harvey College, it wasn’t to earn a college degree—it was to take high school equivalency classes to prepare for the GED.
After graduating from Hyde Park Academy, Favour Gbadamosi took advantage of the Star Scholarship to begin her college journey at Kennedy-King College tuition-free.
“The word star is like, you’re a bright person, you’re shining…” Favour said. “For me to be a part of something like that is really amazing.”
Favour got involved on campus right away, joining Kennedy-King’s Student Government Association and Business Club, where she helped to organize a toy drive to give back to children. Her passion to lend a hand resulted in Favour receiving a City Colleges of Chicago Luminary Award earlier this year.
Once she has earned her associate degree, Favour plans to transfer to a four-year college or university and join the school’s ROTC program.
