Dijiona
In a short time, Olive-Harvey College became more than a place for Dijiona to earn college credits and play basketball. It became a place where she found support, built confidence, and achieved a milestone no Lady Panther had before.
Qianhong Ni immigrated to the United States in 2018 and has worked hard to integrate into the new environment and culture here. She is glad to have found a community at Harold Washington College that welcomed and supported her as she learned English and settled into a college environment. Qianhong was glad to receive support from her academic advisor, the library, and the tutoring and writing centers at Harold Washington.
When she learned she was named the Class of 2021 salutatorian for Harold Washington College, Qianhong was surprised. She and her family are proud of how much she has accomplished so far, and she’s not done yet. Her goal is to become a dental hygienist, an often-competitive field. Qianhong feels well-prepared for the next part of her journey thanks to the education she received at Harold Washington College.
